The multi  talented CEO of Mouzetrap Entertainment, bling-studded mogul opens up about his life and shares his thoughts  on the entertainment industry as well as  his company’s roll out plans for 2017..

How does Mouzetrap Entertainment plan to add an experience in the competitive entertainment industry?

The Mouzetrap DNA is really going 100 percent every day. It’s all about hard work and passion and helping to drive a business forward. We share the same vision, they share the same mission, we all have the same DNA. We just go about doing our business. You know, if you work hard and you do great things, all the other stuff ultimately falls into place. We’re not here for accolades, we’re not here for recognition, we’re not here to feed the media. We’re here to do great things with the people we partner with.

Do you see the market for Mouzetrap Entertainment growing in Africa and the world , especially with a decrease in high purchase of music as well as a lot of piracy in this part of the world?

We aren’t motivated by the financials. The reason we got into the space, number one, was because I (KingMouze) am a big fan of music and I’m very passionate about it regardless of genre. When you look at music over the last 10 years, most of the most of the kwaito artists aren’t recognizable. In the ’90s and early 2000’s you follow guys like TKZee, Zola, Mandoza and Bricks just to name a few. These were huge brands, you know? You don’t see that anymore and because of our ability to build brands, we thought we could help in that area. We saw that kwaito had an aging demographic and we felt because of our relevancy in pop culture, that we could probably bring back a younger demographic. We also thought that we could change the live event experience. Because of our multiple platforms here at Mouzetrap, we felt we could integrate music in a very unique way to change the live event experience.

What can we expect from Kingmouze and Mouzetrap Entertainment to roll out for 2017?

KingMouze will be releasing his first full length LP which will be accompanied by a feature film and a book which is really exciting for us. I think that we’re off to a pretty good start. Those are things that, again, had never been seen before and we believe will ultimately change or rather add experience in the competitive entertainment industry.

What are Mouzetrap Entertainment plans for the future?

First of all, Mouzetrap is going to be extraordinarily successful. When you’re building a brand you always have challenges. The progress that Mouzetrap has made in a very short period of time has been absolutely incredible. The best has yet to come. Remember, in life everything is like a nine-inning ball game, to use a sports phrase. And we’re still in the first inning with Mouzetrap. EYETHU the film I wrote and executive produced, is an amazing story for Mouzetrap. That’s just one small example of what Mouzetrap will offer, that no one else can, great South African stories. The best has yet to come.

How do you plan to compete with other companies who are also getting into the game?

Mouzetrap entertainment is a full service multi tired entertainment and film Production Company. Our main objectives vary from producing features and documentaries to TV commercials, TV series, Music videos and promotional films. The company has currently two producers on board and more than twenty projects in different development or production stages. The web films produced by Mouzetrap Entertainment have gained recognition both nationally and internationally respectively. Long term and wide experience give Mouzetrap entertainment a solid platform for international co-operation. Focus on films with political and social issues. We dig into microcosms, telling small and personal stories, human-focused, giving a glimpse into the life of individuals within current socio-political conflicts and developments. But we also tackle the macrocosm, try to ask ourselves bigger and more complex questions, dealing with the kaleidoscope of stories of global impact; we want to reveal these existential coherences. The company is inclusive of a record label, Artist Management, touring, Merchandising , Music Publishing, Film and TV production.
