Art Paris, a premier event for modern and contemporary art, is set to make a triumphant return in 2025. Running from April 3-6, the highly anticipated 27th edition will reclaim its place at the iconic Grand Palais, which has undergone an extensive four-year restoration. Originally constructed for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, this architectural marvel of the Belle Époque will once again serve as the grand stage for 170 top-tier French and international galleries. The upcoming edition promises an exceptional showcase of artistic innovation, featuring curated exhibitions, thematic tours, and prestigious awards that highlight both established and emerging talent on a global scale.

A Global and Regional Art Nexus
As a cultural bridge between French and international art scenes, Art Paris maintains a balanced representation, with 60% of its exhibitors hailing from France and 40% from abroad. The 2025 edition will see the return of ‘Immortal,’ a curated exhibition exploring the vitality of figurative painting in France. Spearheaded by art historian Amélie Adamo and MO.CO. director Numa Hambursin, this showcase delves into the ongoing evolution of figurative artistry. Concurrently, ‘Out of Bounds,’ curated by Simon Lamunière, investigates the convergence of contemporary artistic practices, addressing themes of identity, culture, and geographic influence.
A Celebration of Figurative and Hybrid Art Forms
‘Immortal’ builds upon its 2023 edition, featuring works by 30 artists spanning multiple generations. The exhibition underscores the resilience of figurative painting in an era dominated by digital and abstract trends. Meanwhile, ‘Out of Bounds’ brings together a diverse international lineup, exploring themes of displacement and the fusion of artistic disciplines through a carefully curated thematic journey.
Spotlight on Emerging Talent
Art Paris 2025 will also expand its ‘Promises’ sector, occupying the Grand Palais’ balconies with 25 up-and-coming galleries that have been established for less than a decade. This initiative nurtures new talent while ensuring accessibility for emerging exhibitors. Additionally, the fair continues its commitment to solo showcases, offering 26 monographic exhibitions that provide in-depth perspectives on individual artists and their creative processes.

Prestigious Awards and Artistic Recognition
Two significant prizes further underscore the fair’s dedication to artistic excellence. The BNP Paribas Banque Privée Prize, awarding €40,000 (approximately ZAR 825,000), will recognize an outstanding artist from the ‘Immortal’ exhibition. Additionally, the newly launched ‘Her Art Prize,’ in partnership with Marie Claire and Boucheron, will grant €30,000 (approximately ZAR 620,000) to a female artist whose work challenges artistic conventions. These awards reinforce Art Paris’ role in championing contemporary voices and historically underrepresented talents.
