Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, Brian Lara and an extraordinary line-up of global sporting legends are heading to Fancourt for the return of The $10M Swing.
There are sporting moments that become part of history. And then there are moments when everything comes down to a single shot.
On 9 December 2026, the iconic 17th hole of the Montagu Course at Fancourt, George, will become the stage for one of golf’s most extraordinary challenges: The $10M Swing, where a hole-in-one could trigger a life-changing US$10-million jackpot.
Returning as part of the Icons Cup South Africa, the high-stakes spectacle will bring together an exceptional collection of sporting legends from South Africa and around the world. Among those stepping up to the tee are former international cricket stars Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers and Brian Lara, alongside football legend John Terry and an impressive roster of celebrated athletes.
The challenge is simple, but the pressure will be immense. Each participating Icon will have one opportunity to strike a hole-in-one across a water hazard from more than 165 yards. A successful shot would trigger the extraordinary jackpot, making it one of the most valuable single-shot prizes in sporting history.
A meeting of sporting legends
The South African team will be captained by golfing great Ernie Els and features an impressive line-up including Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, Herschelle Gibbs, Schalk Burger, Victor Matfield, Fourie du Preez, Shaun Pollock, Vernon Philander and other sporting greats.
They will face the World Team, captained by José María Olazábal, featuring international icons such as Brian Lara, Ash Barty, Sir James Anderson, Christian Cullen, George Gregan, Yuvraj Singh, John Terry and Dwight Yorke.
Beyond the headline names, the event will also welcome a select group of wildcard participants, including digital creators, celebrity guests, local Fancourt representatives and an emerging young golfer from George.

The fans are part of the million-dollar moment
The excitement extends beyond the players. Through a free global online voting campaign, fans can select the Icon they believe will make the hole-in-one.
Should their chosen player succeed, the US$10-million jackpot will be divided into three equal portions: one-third for the player, one-third for the official charity partners and one-third for a randomly selected fan who voted for that player.
For spectators attending in person, there is another opportunity to win. Fans at Fancourt on the evening of 9 December will have the chance to participate in the nearest-the-pin challenge for a R100,000 crowd prize.
The initiative places audiences at the centre of the experience, transforming spectators from observers into participants in a potentially historic sporting moment.
Fancourt takes centre stage
The $10M Swing will serve as a standalone curtain-raiser to the Icons Cup South Africa, which takes place from 11–13 December 2026 at The Links at Fancourt.
The tournament will see Team South Africa take on Team World in a competitive match-play golf format, bringing together sporting personalities whose rivalries and achievements have captured audiences across different disciplines.
The $10M Swing will be broadcast live on YouTube and distributed through the event’s broadcast partners, giving international audiences an opportunity to witness the spectacle.
With a remarkable sporting line-up, a US$10-million incentive and a setting synonymous with championship golf, Fancourt is preparing for an event where one moment could make sporting history.
And on the 17th hole, it will take just one swing.
