A fusion of centuries-old craftsmanship and avant-garde horology

Ulysse Nardin continues to redefine haute horlogerie with the introduction of the Freak X Gold Enamel, a timepiece that masterfully unites 17th-century craftsmanship with 21st-century innovation. Limited to just 120 pieces, this latest creation marks a bold evolution of the iconic Freak line.

At the heart of this revolutionary design is a 22-karat rose gold rotating disc, exquisitely finished with guilloché flinqué and cloaked in a deep blue enamel—a first for the Freak X collection. The disc features a radiant sunray motif and serves as the visual anchor for the watch’s signature flying carousel complication, which replaces traditional hands and dial. Time is indicated by the rotating movement itself: minutes by the moving bridge, hours by a pointer on the disc.

The meticulous enameling process, executed by artisans at Donzé Cadrans, Ulysse Nardin’s in-house enamel workshop, ensures that no two timepieces are identical. Each disc requires over eight hours of skilled handwork, making every piece a unique expression of horological art.

Encased in blue PVD-coated titanium with refined rose-gold accents, the 43 mm Freak X Gold Enamel boasts a 72-hour power reserve and is paired with a matching blue alligator strap. The model is water-resistant to 50 meters (164 feet), ensuring resilience meets elegance.
Priced at R896,250 (excluding VAT), the Freak X Gold Enamel is now available via Ulysse Nardin’s official channels. This timepiece isn’t just a watch—it’s a rare statement of mechanical poetry, brought to life through the alchemy of art and innovation.
