Aston Martin AMB 002 Roadster: A New Expression of Two-Wheeled Luxury

Aston Martin and Brough Superior bring their celebrated collaboration to the road with a hand-built 1,083cc V-Twin roadster limited to 300 examples.

There are few things more difficult in luxury design than translating an established identity into an entirely different category without losing what made the original compelling.

The Aston Martin AMB 002 Roadster attempts precisely that.

Created through the ongoing collaboration between Aston Martin and Brough Superior, the AMB 002 is the first road-legal motorcycle produced by the partnership, following the track-only AMB 001 and AMB 001 Pro introduced in 2019 and 2022.

Limited to just 300 individually built motorcycles, the AMB 002 takes Aston Martin’s language of sculptural design and combines it with Brough Superior’s approach to lightweight engineering, exotic materials and bespoke motorcycle construction.

The result is not simply an Aston Martin-inspired motorcycle. It is a deliberate meeting of two specialist disciplines.

Aston Martin on Two Wheels

The first impression is unmistakably Aston Martin, although the proportions are entirely different.

The AMB 002 uses compact proportions, fluid surfaces and a forward-biased stance to create a sense of movement even when stationary. Sculpted carbon-fibre elements form the bodywork, with the fuel tank and side fairings flowing around the rider rather than simply sitting above the mechanical components.

Crescent-shaped gills cut into the flanks to aid engine cooling and manage airflow, while slender wire-design stalks support the low-slung mirrors.

The design is dramatic without becoming excessive.

That restraint is important because the AMB 002 has been conceived as a rider-focused sports motorcycle rather than a static design exercise.

Four-Wheeled DNA

A closer look reveals how extensively Aston Martin’s automotive design language has been translated.

The marque’s iconic side-strake has been reinterpreted for the motorcycle, passing through the side fairing and extending forward towards the headlamp. Twin oval exhausts feature ribbed heat sinks inspired by the exhaust finishers of the Vanquish, DB12 S and DBX S.

At the rear, the lighting references the visual signatures of Aston Martin’s Vulcan, Valkyrie and Valhalla.

These details create continuity without attempting to make the motorcycle look like a car.

The AMB 002 has its own proportions, its own mechanical architecture and its own relationship with the rider. Aston Martin’s influence is therefore most effective where it is subtle: in the surfaces, the lighting, the materials and the way the motorcycle presents itself.

The Engine at the Centre

Brough Superior’s contribution becomes particularly evident beneath the bodywork.

The AMB 002 is powered by an all-new 1,083cc four-stroke, water-cooled V-Twin producing 130bhp and 110Nm of torque. The engine has been tuned to deliver strong low- and mid-range torque while retaining a smooth and engaging top end.

It has been designed and assembled in-house at Brough Superior’s headquarters in Toulouse, France, where the engine cases are CNC-machined from billet with an emphasis on weight reduction and structural efficiency.

The engineering is deliberately bespoke.

There is no attempt to make the AMB 002 a conventional production motorcycle assembled from existing components. The motorcycle has been developed from scratch as a specific expression of the partnership.

Five Kilograms of Titanium

The frame is perhaps the clearest illustration of Brough Superior’s engineering philosophy.

The AMB 002 uses a titanium frame milled from a solid billet, forming the structural backbone of the motorcycle. At just 5kg, the frame contributes to a 50:50 weight distribution while allowing the designers to centralise the motorcycle’s mass.

Carbon-fibre bodywork and the fuel tank further contribute to an exceptionally low centre of gravity.

The complete motorcycle weighs 190kg, giving the AMB 002 the kind of lightweight character that its 130bhp V-Twin can exploit effectively.

The intention is not simply to make the motorcycle fast.

It is to make it responsive.

The Fior Fork

The front suspension follows the same philosophy.

The AMB 002 uses Brough Superior’s double-wishbone Fior fork, an evolution of the system developed for the AMB 001 Pro. By separating steering and braking forces, the system is designed to maintain precise control of the front-end geometry while providing stability under braking and through high-speed corners.

Its anti-dive characteristics are particularly useful when braking while leaned over, giving the rider greater confidence in demanding situations.

It is an unusual technical solution, but that is precisely the point.

The AMB 002 is intended to demonstrate what happens when both brands are given the freedom to develop something without relying on conventional architecture.

A Collector’s Motorcycle

The limited production run reinforces that philosophy.

Only 300 examples will be built, placing the AMB 002 firmly within the world of collectible performance machinery.

For Aston Martin, the project also demonstrates how its design identity can move beyond four wheels without becoming diluted. The AMB 002 retains the proportions, details and sense of sculptural drama associated with the marque while allowing Brough Superior’s engineering expertise to define the motorcycle underneath.

That balance is ultimately what makes the AMB 002 interesting.

It is not an Aston Martin car reduced to two wheels.

It is a new interpretation of the marque’s design philosophy, shaped by a specialist motorcycle manufacturer capable of matching that ambition with equally uncompromising engineering.

With first deliveries scheduled for the third quarter of 2027, the AMB 002 Roadster represents the most significant step yet in a collaboration that began on the track and has now reached the open road.

Before every Bentley becomes an icon, it begins as Before every Bentley becomes an icon, it begins as a sketch.

At the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bentley celebrated the art behind automotive design by inviting acclaimed illustrator Stefan Marjoram to become its Artist-in-Residence.

Rather than simply displaying extraordinary cars, Bentley transformed its pavilion into a live studio where visitors watched modern grand tourers and century-old classics come to life through hand-drawn illustrations.

It’s a reminder that true luxury starts long before the factory floor—with imagination, creativity and the first confident line of a pencil.

Because every masterpiece begins as an idea.
